Everything has Science!

Science truly is all around us. Science is behind how things work or why they don’t work. It proves why we need to consume certain food, and limit our consumption on other foods. It is science that is behind a skateboarder’s one-eighty and the opportunity to pursue nuclear energy as an alternative power source.

The Renfrew County region has a strong science-based industry. We have agricultural science, engineering science, computer and technology science and health science at our front doorsteps. There are a lot of people in this area asking “why?” and proving why. And anytime you can ask “why?”, you have an experiment. You have science.

The Renfrew County Regional Science & Technology Fair hosts the annual Regional Science Fair event in the Spring of each year. The Fair is open to any student in Renfrew County. Each year we award more than $10,000 in cash prizes and scholarships to Renfrew County students. Four projects are also chosen to represent the County at the Canada Wide Science Fair. For more than 10 years, our students have won awards at the national level in science.

The science fair is an organization with a mandate to grow the interest in science in the Renfrew County region. If you are interested in volunteering with the Fair, we'd love to hear from you.
